The Pastor's Pen
Happy Mother’s Day! When you think of your Mother, do you see her as a Mother, Teacher, Disciplinarian or Friend? Was she a Perfect Mom, an Ideal Mother? Whether your mother was an Ideal Mother or not, one thing is definitely true, she loved her family. Proverbs 31 gives the characteristics of an Ideal Mother.
An Ideal Mother is described as a virtuous woman; righteous, godly, full of virtue - good qualities that make her valuable. Her value is greater than money, because she’s more than a nanny, babysitter, chief cook and bottle-washer. Her wealth is found in her family, not in worldly possessions. The reason she’s worth so much is because of her rarity, an Ideal Mother is hard to find.
An Ideal Mother is described as a woman of integrity; trustworthy, her character is above reproach, working to provide for her family. She is industrious, there’s so much to do to raise a family, but most importantly, she imparts her faith to her family. The legacy of an Ideal Mother is the effect she had on her family.
An Ideal Mother’s Reward is the praise of her family. Money cannot compensate for her worth, but watch her smile as her family gathers around her to partake of the fruits of her labor. Her family may be poor by the world’s standards, but she is so Blessed.
An Ideal Mother’s Secret is “the fear of the Lord.” “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.” (Psalms 111:10, Proverbs 9:10) It takes a Godly Woman to become an Ideal Mother. Is/was your Mother a Godly Woman or an Ideal Mother? Praise God for her. We are Blessed because of our Mothers!

Wow! We certainly had a glorious Celebration of our Lord’s Resurrection on Easter Sunday! Thank you, to those who joined us in celebration, for all those who participated and most of all to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, who gives us salvation and the blessed hope.
I would like to take this opportunity to give a warm welcome to our three newest choir members, Charlie & Janet Fitch and Barbara Moulder. We are certainly happy to have you join our choir ministry and pray that you will be as blessed as we are to have you with us. And as always, anyone is welcome to join the choir ministry.
The month of May brings us Mother’s Day and Memorial Day. These special days provide us with opportunities to give thanks, remember and to share. Special music is planned for these occasions.
Please continue to pray for all the ministries here at Trinity, our pastor and his family and the Sunday morning worship services. Thank you for those prayers and thank you for the encouragement you give. May each of us continue to pray and encourage one another as we travel this “Highway to Heaven”!
I pray each of you have a Happy May and remember, until we meet again…Keep On Singing! J
