The Pastor’s Pen!!!

Happy Mother’s Day!  To all of the Mother’s out there, “Thank You!”  Thank You for loving, for caring, for feeding, for cleaning up after us, and for Everything you have done.  But most importantly, Thank You for being a Christian Mother.  Thank You for showing us how to live, to be a Christian, just like you.  Proverbs 31 shows us what a Christian Mother and wife looks like.

A Christian Mother shows Maturity, not just physical maturity, but spiritual maturity.  Her Attitude and her Actions shows submission to Jesus as Lord and to her husband as the head of the household.  She is thoughtful towards her family, and the effects her actions will have on them.  This is the family God gave her to love and take care of.

A Christian Mother has Modesty.  She lives a life of Respect and Restraint, respected by her family and friends because she has respect for them.  She lives a quiet and sensible life.  She is known because she is kind and quiet, good to others, not because of the way she fixes her hair or clothes she wears.  She passes her Faith on to her family.  Hannah’s dedication to the Lord had a great impact on Samuel.

A Christian Mother shows her Manners.  In her Conversation and her Character, she displays her faith and relationship to God.  She displays the fruit of the Spirit; love, joy, peace, not quarrelsome nor complaining.  She has a great impact on her husband and family, even leading them to the Lord by her maturity, modesty and manners.

Remember, behind every good man is a Christian Woman & Mother.

What’s Happening in Youth?

Summer Camp

We are going to Uplands Reach, Camp & Conference Center, outside of Asheville, NC, on June 18 – 2219 Youth and 3 Adults have signed up to go.  The Total Cost is $265, but the Church will pay $100 per Youth Group Member, so your Cost is only $165.  If you have not paid your Deposit ($15) for Camp, you have to do so this week.

You can raise the money by selling the Little Caesar’s Pizza Kits or the Frank’s Pizza Cards.  They are due back to the Office as soon as possible, or see Judith Bailey for details.

Summer Camp is a Wonderful, Fun-Filled, Spiritual Growth Experience!  Teen Camp is for young people from the 7th through the 12th grade.  This year’s theme is Revolution, (remember the Beatles song) based on Romans 12:1-2, 121 Underground.  We have been to Uplands Reach before and are excited about going back to the mountains of NC again.

WV Mission Trip

We are Headed to Hedgesville, WV, the week of July 15-21.  12 Youth and 8 Adults have signed up to go.  Remember, if you are going on this Mission Trip, you are responsible to raise the money needed for the Mission Trip.  You can do this by being involved in All of the Fund-Raisers that we have, including helping serve and clean up at the Church Luncheons.  A lot of you were involved in Christmas in April, but you also have to be involved in another local Missions Project.  You must also be involved in the Evangelism Training Courses, such as Share Jesus Without Fear, which is currently being taught on Sunday nights.

We will be “camping” at Central Chapel Church in Hedgesville, so bring your sleeping bag, floor mat or air mattress.  Shower facilities will be available.  Bring your work clothes, including proper shoes.  Get ready for a fun-filled week.  It will be a week of hard work (construction style), spiritual growth (worship & discipleship), and friendships (of all kinds & ages) that will last a lifetime.
