Pastor's Pen - Carol's Notes - Numbers - What's Happening - Pantry

The Pastor's Pen

February, the month of Love.  What is Love?  Love is doing something for the person you care for.  GOD is LOVE!  God so Loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son.  The Greatest Commandment is, “Love the Lord your God with All your heart, mind, soul & strength, & your neighbor as yourself.”  How do we Love God & everybody else with everything we’ve got?

Loving God begins by personally experiencing His Incredible Love.  You can Know God Personally, experience the Forgiveness of Sin & the Joy of Salvation.  Salvation means Eternal Life in Christ & being a Child of the King.  Love reveals your true nature; whether you are a child of God or child of the devil.  Do you Love God as much as you say you do?  Do you Fear Him, Reverence, Respect, Worship Him?  Do you Walk with Him, Daily, in His Will & His Way?  We Love Him because He first Loved us & gave us Jesus!

Loving Others requires that we “Love our Neighbor” as we Love Ourselves.  You are a Child of God, created in His image, Re-created in Him, created to Love Him & His children.  Jesus Commands us to “Love our Neighbor.”  Our Neighbor is anyone who needs Mercy or Ministering to.  Love is an active experience, being involved in our neighbor’s lives, not just “Doing” religious acts, but demonstrating Love in Action.  “Love one another as I Loved you.”

Love is Characterized by Attitudes of the Heart, as well as Actions of the Body.  Love hangs in there even when it hurts, feels Hurt when others Sin, does good things to others & rejoices when others Succeed.  Love is not “Me 1st, but seeks others well-being.  Love is Amazing; it Bears all things, Believes all things, Hopes all things & Endures all things.  Love is Eternal; it is the Reason for Creation, for Christmas & the Resurrection.  Oh, How I Love Jesus!

Carol's Notes

As January draws to a close and a new month begins, it’s time for me to write my final newsletter article.  After many years of playing the piano and over three years of directing the choir, my time of ministry at Trinity has come to an end.  It has been an honor and privilege to serve the Lord here.  I am grateful for our church members from years past who provided such a beautiful Steinway that it has been my privilege to play.  I am extremely thankful for the faithfulness of the choir members.  I believe the Lord has blessed our efforts and we have made beautiful music together for His glory.

Do you know what a church choir really is?  It is more than just a musical organization – it’s a family, a source of support for one another, a place where friendships are formed.  Sometimes the choir can provide a means of escape from the frustrations and hardships of life as we let the music, at least temporarily, carry us away.  The church choir is caring people working together to encourage one another and serve the Lord through music.  I am thankful to have been a part of this with you and pray for God’s blessings as you continue to lead in worship and in the ministry of music.

Thank you for the delicious dinner on our last Sunday, for all your kind words and for the lovely gift.  We will always consider Trinity our home church and we look forward to opportunities to come back and visit with you.

May the Lord bless and keep you until we meet again!

Have a fantastic February, and remember...Keep Singing!

Strength in Numbers

One snowflake alone does not make enough snow to sled on…it takes millions.  We have often heard that there is strength in numbers; when we work together we can accomplish more than we can alone.  Working together, we can bring about many good and caring changes in the lives of those around us.

When we worship God as a congregation, we grow in faith as we support one another.  Come together at your local house of worship; find God’s strength in numbers.
